PADI OPEN WATER COURSE

The beginning of your diving adventure

10500$
3 days
Cenote Lol-Ha, Cenote Azul and Mahahual
dive equipment, lunch, water, coffee all 3 days. eLearning and certification fee included.
The PADI Open Water Course certification is your access to the underwater world. Once you have it, it lasts for life and you will be a recognised member of the scuba diving communities no matter where you are in the world. The course is designed to make it safe and fun to learn how to scuba dive and we at ScuBacalar like to follow that path as well.
It takes 3 full days to complete the practical part of the course. This includes the training sessions in confined water and the 4 open water dives, which are mandatory to complete the course.
We recommend doing the theory part (eLearning) before arrival, so we can focus on diving once you get here. The eLearning gives you the opportunity to study the theory at your own pace in a very easy going way on your laptop, tablet or cellphone. It can be done in a few evenings and your instructor will be able to follow along and assist should there be any questions or uncertainties.
The practical part of the course we do is a little different than most places. As we want to offer a boutique service, we only take small groups meaning 2 students per instructor. This ensures that there is time for personal treatment, thoroughness and a lot of fun and games.
1st day: Our training sessions take place in a gorgeous Cenote close to Bacalar. It offers great conditions with crystal clear and calm waters of different depths to get familiar with the equipment and practice your skills before going on your first dive the next day.
2nd day: In our course we take you to the ocean and the Great Mayan Reef for your first 2 dives (weather dependent). We provide transportation back and forth. By the ocean we will again practice some skills in the shallows before doing the first dive at the reef (shallow and calm max 10 meters). There are already good chances here to see a lot of great marine life. Then we go for lunch, before executing the 2nd dive. We return to Bacalar around 19.
3rd day: We stay here in Bacalar to execute the last 2 dives in the amazing Cenote Azul, which is our home “reef”. A special type of ecosystem thrives there and we will explore this while finishing your final skills and dives to become certified PADI Open Water Diver.
Price includes all of the above plus dive equipment, lunch, water, coffee all 3 days. eLearning and certification fee included.
